Water sampling is a fundamental approach for measuring water quality. JBL’s biologists have extensive experience developing and conducting water sampling programs throughout BC. We have designed water sampling programs for a variety of projects including large multi-year mine developments to identify baseline water quality conditions, and smaller-scale projects to assess regulatory compliance with sediment release guidelines, contaminated site regulations and septic-system requirements.
Selected Projects:
– Water sampling for metals as part of site remediation at Beach Road (South Surrey) on Semiahmoo First Nation land – for Summit Earthworks, 2018.
– Developed water management and sampling plan for BC Hydro’s Big Bend substation construction on Byrne Creek watershed (Burnaby). The project included deep-soil mixing. JBL developed field sampling protocol, collected water samples and provided report detailing results – for Seven Generations Environmental Services, 2017.
– Conducted review of existing baseline water quality data and developed data gap analysis for the Port of Prince Rupert, BC – for SNC Lavalin Inc, 2013.
– Conducted water quality monitoring program to verify whether a sewage outfall in Kalamalka Lake was in compliance with the BC Ministry of Environment’s water quality permit – for SNC Lavalin Inc., 2012.
